RECs/STCs

Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) are tradable units created under the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000, as part of the Renewable Energy Target (RET) Scheme. Each REC represents one megawatt-hour of electricity generated by a solar PV system. The value of RECs is determined by market demand and trading conditions.

There are two ways you can be paid for your RECs/STCs

Assign your RECs to a registered agent in exchange of financial benefit which may be in the form of upfront discount or delayed cash payment.

Create RECs by yourself by finding a buyer and then sell them in RECs registry.
