What Actually Happens When You Go Solar With Rescom
You have decided you are sick of the power bill. Good. Now what?
Most homeowners go into solar without knowing what the next six weeks actually look like: who calls who, what gets approved, when the crew turns up, and when the bill finally drops. Here is the honest version, start to finish.

1. You reach out
Call us on 1300 128 747, complete a free quote form, or speak with our team after you have shown interest. The first conversation is short and practical, with no pressure and no script.
2. The discovery call
Before we talk numbers, we learn about your address, a recent electricity bill, your energy use, and whether your switchboard is single phase or three phase. If blackout protection matters, tell us why. That context changes what we recommend.
3. The site inspection
We inspect your roof condition, orientation, shading, roof material, switchboard location, and inverter run. A site visit helps identify issues before installation day.
4. Your quote
Using the site visit and your bill, we recommend a system sized for how you use energy. Your quote outlines panel and battery options, applicable government rebates, and the price after deductions. If battery storage is not the right fit yet, we will say so.
5. You sign
Once you are happy, you sign the contract. Standard Australian consumer protections, including cooling-off rights, apply.
6. The sales order
Your signed quote becomes a formal Sales Order covering the components for your roof and switchboard, down to isolators and mounting rails. You receive a copy, while we confirm any deposit and prepare rebate paperwork.
7. Grid connection approval
Where required, we lodge a connection application with your local network distributor: Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, or Essential Energy. Most residential approvals return in about a week, but timing is outside our control. We lodge early so it does not hold up the install date.
8. Your install date is locked in
Once the distributor approves the connection and equipment is allocated, we confirm an installation date. This is usually a couple of weeks out, based on approvals and stock.
9. Installation day
Most standard solar installs take one day. Adding a battery can take two. You do not need to be home all day, but someone should be available if the team needs access or a decision about positioning.

10. Compliance, testing, and switching on
Our licensed team tests the completed system and issues a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work. We also handle the final meter reconfiguration with your retailer. For systems with a contract value over $20,000, we will remind you to tell your home and contents insurer about the new asset.
11. We hand it over properly
Before we leave, we walk you through the monitoring app: how to read it, what normal looks like, and what to check if something seems off.
12. Your invoice and payment
Once the job is complete and signed off, we issue the final invoice in line with your original quote, with no surprise line items. Payment follows the agreed terms.
13. After-sales support
If your inverter shows an error, your app stops updating, or your bill is not doing what you expected, call 1300 128 747. We also publish plain-English troubleshooting videos for common issues.
